B.Fest: Brighton's Annual Youth Arts Festival

A blog article by Abbie Hodges who writes about the B.Fest, a local opportunity for young people to get involved in the arts.

B.fest is back for another year with an amazing schedule of events! B.Fest is Brighton’s annual youth arts festival and aims to bring arts and culture closer to Young People, involving them in every aspect of planning, organising, designing, exhibiting and performing. From art exhibitions, sustainable fashion workshops, open mic nights, gaming sessions and skateboarding, there’s truly something for everyone! Check out the week’s schedule here. Their events are at Brighton Youth Centre, starting today, so get down there to get involved.

Their launch party is tonight from 4pm where they’ll have a spray paint workshop, pizza-making, a DJ workshop and so much more, all topped off with their X-Cite Halloween Gig at 7pm.

The Channel are thrilled to be involved with B.Fest this year, where we’ll be hosting a spooky stories creative writing workshop. This is a free and informal session where we’ll have games, collaging, and writing activities to test your creativity! All levels of creative writing are welcome! You’ll also be offered the chance to take part in our upcoming short story competition and get published in our print magazine. You can sign up for the event here.

Are you an artist? There’s still space to sign up for a stall at their art market next Saturday 29th October! BAM is a youth art market not to miss, full of innovative work by young people 13-25 years. Exhibitors will be representing the world of art and design in the form of prints, poster art, apparel, animation, zines, publishing, creative workshops, and live unplugged performances. You can sign up for a stall here.
